Major League Soccer's Houston Dynamo announced the signing of
18-year-old local midfielder Francisco Navas Cobo to a contract
Tuesday, making him their youngest player on the 2010 roster.
He is also the second player to come out of the Dynamo's youth academy, joining Chivas USA as MLS teams to have promoted two players in a similar way.
He has played in the Dynamo's first four scrimmages and both games in the inaugural Walt Disney World Pro Soccer Classic at the ESPN Wide World Of Sports complex in Lake Buena Vista, FL.
Navas Cobo led the Dynamo's U-18 team to first place in the Texas Division of the US Soccer Federation Development Academy's league before the high school sports break in Texas and scored five goals in 13 games.
He was also named USSF Player of the Week November 26 for his play against the Cleveland Internationals and MLS' Columbus Crew.
